5 killed, 17 injured as bus falls into gorge

Ghazipur, May 6 (UNI) At least five persons were killed and 17 others seriously injured after a speeding private bus they were travelling in collided head on with a tempo and fell into a gorge here today.

Superintendent of Police Antony Dev Kumar said the ill-fated bus, on its way to Ghazipur from Varanasi, rammed into the tempo and overturned in the gorge, killing four passengers on the spot.

The injured were rushed to hospital in a critical condition, where a grievously wounded succumbed.

According to doctors, the condition of all the passengers was said to be serious.

The deceased remained unidentified.
