3 labourers working on Metro site die in accident, two injured
New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) Three labourers working on the Metro construction sites on the Indraprastha-Noida section today died while two others were injured in an accident at a Metro workshop at East Delhi's Mayur Vihar this afternoon, police said.
At about 1400 hours, the wall of a water tank at a Metro workshop at Chilla Gaon in Mayur Vihar collapsed when some labourers were bathing near it.
Thirty-year-old Vinod, hailing from Bihar, 27-year-old Bashir and another unidentified labourer died in the accident while two others were injured, police said.
While one of the injured, 28-year-old Jitender, was discharged from hospital after receiving first aid, the other injured was admitted at the Jeevan Anmol hospital.
The labourers were hired by M/s Navayuga construction, the contractors for the metro work on the Indraprastha-Noida section.
The workshop has been built by the contractor to house the labour working at various sites.
A case under section 304 A has been registered in this connection.
