Tohra's widow refuses to SGPC's facilities
Patiala, May 5 (UNI) Joginder Kaur Tohra, widow of former SGPC president late Gurcharan Singh Tohra, today refused to accept facilities of a chauffeur-driven car and domestic helps extended to her by the SGPC.
In a written statement issued here today, Ms Tohra said she was grateful to SGPC president Avatar Singh Makkar for extending her the facilities but she did not need them.
The SGPC chief had yesterday announced to give a car with a driver along with two women mates to look after Ms Tohra.
Ms Tohra said her husband did not avail any facility in his 26 year tenure as the SGPC president.''He had neither taken car nor claimed any TA/DA from the Committee'', she said.
''If the SGPC really wants to serve me then they should utilise the money to be spent on prividing me facilities for the betterment of the Sikh panth,'' she said, adding that the money should be spent on educational institutions being run by the Committee.
