Shahabuddin found guilty of kidnapping
Siwan, May 5 (UNI) A special court today found RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin guilty in the kidnapping case of CPI (ML) leader Chotelal Gupta in February, 1999.
Shahabuddin was accused of kidnapping the CPI (ML) Gupta from Andardhala railway crossing of Siwan district.
However, the court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on May 8.
The MP was acquitted in two other criminal cases on which hearing was completed today.
Shahabuddin was acquitted for want of evidence, in the case in which he was charged with triggering a bomb blast at DAV College in 1988.
In another case, the same year the MP was also accused of shooting Birbal Singh at the premises of a yarn mill in Siwan district.
The court, however, acquitted him for want of proof.
