Bihar: Shahabuddin found guilty of kidnapping
Siwan, May 05: A Special Court today found RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin guilty of February, 1999, kidnapping case.
Shahabuddin was accused of kidnapping CPI (ML) leader Chotelal Gupta from Andardhala railway crossing of Siwan district.
However, the court would pronounce the quantum of punishment on May eight.
The MP was also acquitted in two other criminal cases on which hearing was completed today.
In the other case, in which he was acquitted for want of evidence, Shahabuddin was charged with triggering a bomb blast at DAV College in 1988.
In another case, the MP was accused of shooting Birbal Singh in 1988 at the premises of a yarn mill in Siwan district.
The court, however, acquitted him for want of proof.
