Prosecute Guj CM, HM under section 302 of IPC: Vaghela
Nagpur, May 5 (UNI) Union Textiles Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela today demanded that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah be prosecuted under section 302 (murder) of IPC for the 'fake encounters' that claimed lives of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kausarbi.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Vaghela, a former Chief Minister of Gujarat, said Mr Modi and Shah must be prosecuted as they had allegedly hatched the conspiracy to eliminate Sheikh and Kausarbi.
''Marble traders from Rajasthan wanted Sheikh to be eliminated over some financial transactions and had enlisted Mr Modi's help.
The conspiracy was hatched at the chief minister's residence by Mr Modi and Mr Shah,'' he alleged.
The task was later entrusted to the Gujarat police, he said. After eliminating Sheikh, the Gujarat police personnel raped his wife Kausarbi and then killed her, Mr Vaghela said. They later burned her body to destroy the evidence, he alleged.
They had draped the body in the clothes of a Hindu woman so that it could be consigned to flames, he added.
Mr Vaghela was in the city to attend the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the polyester manufacturing plant of Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited (IRSL) at Butibori, about 30 kms from here.
