Prices of select non-ferrous metals rise

Mumbai, May 5 (UNI) Select non-ferrous metal prices rose on lesser stock supply here, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the non-ferrous section, zinc slab and lead ingots edged up by Rs 600 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on better buying support.

In the ferrous section, Brass utensil and Brass cutting fell by Rs 100 per quintal each due to sluggish demand.

Tin slab remained flat while nickel cathode rose by Rs 20 per kg on heavy demand from retailers.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,000, Copper utensils - Rs 34,200, Brass utensils - Rs 26,400, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,400 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 41,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slabs - Rs 20,600, Lead ingots - Rs 10,200, Tin slab - Rs 750 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,320 (per kg).
