Physical Edcuation teachers observe fast

Chennai, May 5 (UNI) Members of the Tamil Nadu Physical Education Directors Association led by their state President S Sankaraperumal observed a day's fast today to draw the state Government's attention in to their long pending demands.

In a statement here, Association's General Secretary C Sarvesan said they were demanding among other things appointment of adequate numbers of Physical education teachers in the ratio of 1:100 salaries on par with Central government employees, incentive as in the case of other teachers to pursue higher studies, promotion as high school headmasters based on seniority, appointment of physical education teachers in all upgraded Middle and High schools.
