Parliamentary secretaries sworn-in

Itanagar, May 5 (UNI) Seven parliamentary secretaries have been administered the oath of office and secrecy at a special function here in the presence of the prominent political persons of the state.

Those who were sworn-in yesterday, included principal parliamentary secretary Tsering Gyurme, parliamentary secretaries Thajam Aboh(agriculture, attached to the chief minister), Rajesh Tacho(civil aviation), Tsewang Dhondup(planning), Kumar Waii(tourism, also attached to chief minister), Takam Sorang (state transport, also attached to the chief minister) and Tadik Chije (IPR, PHED and cooperation, attached to the IRP minister).

Gyurme, former Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister, was also appointed principal advisor to the chief minister.

Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu created a new precedent by administering the oath of office and secrecy, a domain of the state governor, by exercising the power vested upon him by the recently promulgated Arunachal Pradesh Parliamentary Secretaries (appointment, salaries, allowances and miscellaneous provisions) ordinance, 2007.

Ministers, MLAs, chairmen and chairpersons of various commissions and state government undertakings, top ranking civil and police officials, including DCs and SPs from various districts, leaders of political parties and representatives of civil societies attended the function.
