North Zone trials for hockey probables on May 11-12

Chandigarh, May 5 (UNI) The Chandigarh Hockey Association (CHA) will hold North Zone trials for hockey probables on May 10 and 11 here.

Stating this here today, CHA secretary Y P Vohra said the CHA is organising these trials "in pursuance of the Long Term Youth Development Programme launched by the Indian Hockey Federation to rebuild the Indian hockey from the grass root level.'' The selected players would undergo rigorous screening and final selection at the IHF level to constitute a nucleus of 40 to 50 players for 2009 Junior World Cup and 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Players from Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh were eligible for trials. Players born on or after January 1, 1988 RPT January 1, 1988 will be considered for selection on production of original certificates authenticating their age.
