JVM announces nominee for Dalatonganj by-poll

Ranchi, May 04 (UNI) Jharkhand Vikash Morcha(JVM) today finalised its candidate - Mr Anandshankar - for the June two by-election to the Daltonganj Assembly seat.

Party President and former chief minister Babulal Marandi announced the party decision here and said Ms Ashrita Kujur was made the Central President of the party's womens' wing.

The by-election was necessitated after Mr Inder Singh Namdhari resigned from the seat on March 29.

Mr Namdhari had won the seat on the Janata Dal(U) ticket in the last assembly polls.

He resigned on the pretext of JD(U)'s initial refusal to support the NDA candiate in the last by-election to Palamu Parliamentary seat.

He deserted the JD(U), even though the party later on withdrew its candidate in favour of the NDA nominee and announced his decision to fight the by-poll as an independent candidate.
