GNFC announes 42.5 pc dividend: Net profit up by 10.77 pc

Bharuch, May 5 (UNI) Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Ltd (GNFC) today announced 42.5 percent dividend on the enhanced capital for the year ended March this year.

Company Chairman S G Mankad said sales rose to Rs 2,956.67 crore during the year as against Rs 2,281.33 crore in 2005-06.

Profit before tax also rise to all time high at Rs 489.39 crore as against Rs 446.56 crore. Net profit was up by 10.77 per cent at Rs 326.47 crore. The earning per share also rose by 4.42 per cent at Rs 21.01.

The company posted a net profit at Rs 112.18 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007 in comparison to Rs 93.3 crore in the corresponding period last year. The sales was also at record level of Rs 864.80 crore during the quarter and also reported highest ever quarterly profit before tax at Rs 160 crore.
