General Insurance officers call for nation-wide strike

Kochi, May 5 (UNI) The General Insurance Officers All India Association has called for an indefinite nation-wide strike from May 18 if its demands related to pension, promotion, transfer and allowances are not met.

Association Kerala Unit President P P Mohanan said in a statement here that the Class One officers of all public sector General Insurance Companies would go on strike from May 18.

Charging the managements with ignoring their demands, Mr Mohanan said demonstrations would be staged in front of the head office and regional offices of the Insurance companies on May seven and 14, followed by the indefinite strike.
