Four TASMAC employees arrested
Chennai, May 5 (UNI) Police arrested four employees of an Indian made Foreign Liquor shop, run by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), for allegedly stalling police personnel of the prohibition enforcement wing from conducting routine raid, at a TASMAC shop at suburban Tambaram T B Sanitorium area today.
Police said the prohibition enforcement wing police used to routinely check the TASMAC shops for spurious quality liquor. When a police team went to that particular shop, the employees allegedly prevented them from doing their duty and abused them.
On a complaint from the prohibition enforcement wing police, police arrested Damodharan, Nagarajan, Subramanian and Pandiyan.
They were later remanded to judicial custody, police said.
