Dacoit leader arrested

Morena(MP), May 5 (UNI) Notorious dacoit Charna Sikarwar, who carried a reward of Rs 25,000, and his two close associates were arrested while travelling in a private bus in this district today.

On a tip-off that the dacoit was on his way here from Mrigpura, a police party conducted a checking of buses on the Agra-Mumbai highway and arrested the trio, who were not carrying arms at that time, Superintendent of Police Hari Singh said.

Charna's nephews Guddu Sikarwar and Sonu Pavaiya, who also carried reward of Rs 15,000 each, were also arrested.

Charna, who earned notoriety after the abduction of Dr Narayan Hari in this district last year, was wanted in about half a dozen cases of murder, attempt to murder, loot and kidnapping. Sonu Pavaiya was the main accused in the abduction of Manish Patel of Gwalior.
