Cookie Man partners with CRY on child rights

Chennai, May 5: Cookie Man, the number one brand of fresh baked Australian cookies in the country, has struck a partnership with CRY (Child Rights and You), India's leading advocate for child rights.

The partnership, launched by actor Kushboo, was aimed at launching an initiative that aims at creating awareness on the Right to Education for all Indian children, a company release here said.

"In a country that has less than 50 per cent of its children (between the ages of 6-14 years) going to school, it becomes critical for more people to join hands to ensure that every child in the country has access to equitable and quality education", it said.

The Cookie Man-CRY initiative intends to create awareness and offer a platform for each one of us to be a part of this movement for child rights, it said.

To mark the partnership, Cookie Man announced the launch of a special range of packaging solutions, featuring artwork created by children.

Developed with inputs from CRY, the Cookie Man-CRY boxes will contribute 15 per cent from the sale to CRY's programmes across India. In addition, Cookie Man will support CRY's efforts through an awareness campaign on the Right to Education that will include in-store branding, across 10 cities, to drive understanding of the issues at hand and to stimulate customers to take positive action.

Speaking on the occasion, Pattabhi Rama Rao, President, Australian Foods (I) Private Ltd. said, "Cookie Man is delighted to be associated with CRY and the issue of children's education.

Cookie Man hopes to make a significant contribution towards the development of India's future generation through our partnership with CRY, it added.
