Chhattisgarh HC pulls up Chief Secretary, Law Secretary
Bilaspur, May 5 (UNI) State Chief Secretary Shivraj Singh and Law Secretary T P Sharma have appeared before the Chhattisgarh High Court for ''showing laxity in the filing of replies by various government departments on schedule''.
A Single-Bench of Justice Satish Agnihotri had earlier summoned the two bureaucrates to personally appear before the court yesterday. Earlier, the Judge had expressed his annoyance over the lack of seriousness on the part of the government over the issue.
The officers told the court that the directives would be issued to all departments to file replies on schedule through the Advocate General's office.
According to court sources, lack of co-ordination among government advocates and the Advocate General's office, besides the failure to submit replies with full information was leading to frequent adjournment, causing problems to litigants.
The judge had raised the issue with government advocates on many occasions, but no improvement was seen, the sources said.
