BSNL employee electrocuted, villagers protest

Mysore, May 5 (UNI) A BSNL employee was electrocuted when he came into contact with a live electric wire while drawing a telephone cable at Mahadevapura village in neighbouring Mandya district, yesterday.

Police said the victim, identified as Prasanna Kumar (32), was working as a daily wage employee in BSNL for the past five years.

Irked by the BSNL officials not visiting the mishap spot, the villagers today laid a siege to the BSNL office. They obstructed traffic on the busy Mysore-Bangalore highway for some time.
