Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrated in temple town

Tirupati, May 5 (UNI) To propagate Lord Venkateswara's vaibhavatsovam and keertans of Annamacharya, every devotee should take esponsibility across the world, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board Chairman B Karunakar Reddy said here today.

Mr Reddy, who participated as a chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 599th Annamacharya Jayanthi and the beginning celebration of 'Annamacharya Jayanti Utsavalu' here, said this year was already declared as 'Annamayya Year' and appealed to devotees to spread this announcement.

Later, TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachari said the keertans were simple and graceful, and also expressed his happiness over the declaration of 'Annamayya Year'.

SVETA Director Bhuman said a dictionary and a stamp on Tallapaka Annamayya might be released to mark the occasion.

TTD JEO N Srikanth, Annamacharya Project Director Madasani Mohan and others also participated in the function.
