Two years RI for former Kerala Chief Secretary
Kozhikode, May 4 (UNI) Former Kerala Chief Secretary and Kaladi Srisankara Sanskrit University Vice Chancellor R Ramachandran Nair was today sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment by a City Court here in a land deal case.
Special Vigilance Judge M P Bhadran also slapped a fine of Rs two lakh on the former bureaucrat for causing huge loss to the state exechequer.
The court, in its judgement said Mr Nair was found guilty of taking a unilateral decision to acquire 13 acres of land for the varsity at Alappalli in Palakkad district at a market price of Rs 35,88,750 in 1995.
