Two govt employees arrested accepting bribe
Patna, May 04 (UNI) In separate operations, sleuths of state vigilance bureau arrested an employee of Muzaffarpur block and a lab assistant of state road construction department for accepting bribe during the last twenty four hours at Muzaffarpur and Patna respectively.
Additional director general of state vigilance bureau Neelmani today said that Sitaram Thakur, the employee of Mushari block in Muzaffarpur, was arrested at his office during the day while he was accepting Rs 2500 from one Ramesh Rai to extend favour in connection with a mutation case.
In another operation, Rajeev Ranjan, the lab assistant of road construction department, was arrested last night from Boring road locality in Patna while he was accepting Rs 700 from contractor Kaushlendra Kumar in lieu of returning his National Saving Certificates (NSCs), which were earlier submitted to the department as security deposit.
Later during the raid at residence of Mr Ranjan at Hanuman Nagar here, more than Rs one lakh was recovered while 70 passbooks and National Saving Certificates worth Rs 36 lakhs were seized.
