Second phase Prajapatham completed

Hyderabad, May 4 (UNI) The second phase of Prajapatham which started on April 23 was completed and out of the 9,740 gram panchayats or wards, scheduled to be covered, 9,214 have been covered.

The Chief Minister had participated in Cuddapah, Anantapur, Warangal districts and enquired people about the various programmes being implemented.

As was done in the first phase, priority issues of special focus on SCST welfare, visit to SCST and BC hostels, drinking water, assured power supply for seven hours per day, National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme, Indira Kranti Patham, Indiramma Programme, housing for eligible families and pensions for eligible families were taken up.

The teams verified and found that in both the rounds 1,615 drinking water works at an estimated cost of Rs 4,131.78 lakh were sanctioned.

Out of the 18,480 gram panchayats or wards visited by the Prajapatham teams, 15,953 gram panchayats or wards, i e 98.92 per cent were being supplied seven hours power daily.

In both the rounds 11,91,620 job cards were issued under National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme and 6,76,326 workers reported for work.

In 18,480 wards visited by the teams it was found that 4,55,785 SHGs were already formed.
