Rajasthan reels under hot spell

Jaipur, May 4 (UNI) The blazing sun in Rajasthan is providing no respite to people across the state as temperatures continue to hover above 42 degrees Celsius in most parts.

The mercury in the state capital today touched 43.7 degrees making its residents sweat and keep indoors mainly. The minimum reached a high of 28 degrees.

With many private schools in the city closing down for the much awaited summer vacation, parents, especially of toddlers are heaving a sigh of relief.

Ajmer, Dabok sizzled at 42 degrees. Jodhpur was a degree higher at 42.6 and Bikaner at 43. 5 degree Celsius.

With sun showing no signs of relenting, the weathermen say the temperatures are expected to hover above 40 degree Celsius in the next few days.

They are, however, forecasting duststorms accompanied with lightening and thunder at a few places in the state.
