Bhopal, May 4 (UNI) The Railway has ordered an inquiry into the alleged beating up of two passengers by Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTE) during a ticket checking drive in the Amritsar-bound Chhattisgarh Express at Sukhi Seonia station near here early this morning.

While the Railways denied any misbehaviour with the three-member Purohit family, which was travelling in a reserved coach on a second-class ticket, Pankaj Purohit and Anil Purohit were admitted to the Hamidia hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Doctors treating them said minor bruises were seen on the bodies of both.

Railway sources said West Central Railway's Bhopal DRM Ashok Agrawal has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Sources said the ticket checking staff imposed a penalty of Rs 325 on them for travelling without proper ticket. However, they refused to pay the penalty leading to an altercation.

Pankaj's wife was also travelling with them.

Sources denied that Pankaj was thrown out of the train.

The Government Railway Police is also investigating into the matter.
