Islamabad, May 4: The Pakistan Foreign Office has shrugged off the disclosures made by the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS), a UK-based think tank, in its dossier on nuclear scientist Dr A Q Khan, saying there was nothing new that warranted a comment.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam was nonchalant about it and merely said this is like many other studies in the past, the Dawn newspaper reported.

She reiterated that Pakistan had taken a number of measures which included establishment of a robust command and control structure and export controls underscoring that this has been acknowledged even by this latest report.

The spokesperson rubbished the notion that Pakistan may still be dependent on illicit sources and smuggling routes to maintain its nuclear programme.

The 176-page dossier titled ''Nuclear markets: Pakistan, AQ Khan and the rise of proliferation networks; a net assessment'' was launched by the IISS in London on Wednesday.

Pakistan came under tremendous international pressure four years ago after it was reveled that its top scientist Dr AQ Khan had proliferated nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea.

The Pakistan government, which had taken punitive action against Khan, however, refused to hand him over to a foreign country for investigations keeping in view "sensitivities" around him.
