MPs discuss draft National Policy on Criminal Justice

New delhi, May 04 (UNI) A meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today discussed the Draft National Policy on Criminal Justice system.

Home Minister Shivraj Patil chaired the meeting, which was attended by Rajya Sabha member Dr. P.C. Alexander and Lok Sabha members Nikhil Kumar, Mohanbhai Delkar and Sarbananda Sonowa.

Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal and S. Regupathy and Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta were among those who participated in the meeting.

Taking part in the deliberations, the members of the Consultative Committee welcomed the Government's attempt to draft the National Policy on Criminal Justice and put forward a series of suggestions during their presentations.

"The Drafting Committee of National Criminal Justice Policy will take into account these suggestions while finalizing the draft policy paper, " a spokesman of the MHA said here.
