Maneka criticises erring MPs

Chennai, May 4 (UNI) Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi today said it was very shameful of a few MPs, including Babubhai Katara of BJP, to be involved in human trafficking.

Ms Gandhi, who arrived here from New Delhi on a private visit, told newspersons at the airport that the Lok Sabha members who were elected by the people as their representatives, holding responsible positions should not indulge in such cheap acts.

It should be condemned and put down with an iron hand irrespective of political colours, she said.

Asked about the ''Jallikattu'' (bull fight) shows in different parts of the Tamil Nadu despite severe protest by animal lovers and others, she said it should be stopped.
