Landslide disrupts communication in Arunachal

Itanagar, May 04 (UNI) Transport and Communication between Hayuliang and Hawai in Arunachal's Anjaw district were disrupted following landslide triggered by torrential rains since last ten days.

A large portion of the road at Hayuliang caved in thereby snapping the surface communication, official sources informed here today.

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel have rushed to the spot for the restoration of the road, sources informed.

However, the essential commodities were transported by engaging porters at block point under the supervision of District Supply Officier and Superintendent of Police.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner M Bagra had asked the supply department to ensure buffer rice stock at vulnerable locations as soon as the communication is restored, sources added.
