Judicial custody of Katara extended to May 18
New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau today extended judicial custody of five persons - BJP MP Babubhai Katara, Rajender Singh, Sunder Lal Yadav, Kiran Dhar and Paramjeet Kaur - involved in human trafficking case to May 18.
Katara was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on April 18 on the charges of trying to take a woman, Paramjeet Kaur, and a teenaged boy to Canada on diplomatic passports of his wife and son.
The investigation officer today filed the reply on clubbing the two FIRs made on the last date of hearing on behalf of Katara. He submitted to the court that Punjab police could not appear today with the investigation report as required.
Additional Metropolitan Magistrate partly heard the bail application of Paramjeet Kaur. The court found that the husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law of Paramjeet Kaur who are presently abroad do not hold the legal documents.
The court adjourned further arguments on the bail application of Paramjeet Kaur till May 9.
