Highly decomposed body of cop found from his quarters

Rajkot, May 4 (UNI) A highly decomposed body of a constable was found from his house in Amreli yesterday.

According to police, the deceased Babu Merji (52), originally hailing from Danta village in Banaskantha district, was living alone in block number four of the police headquarters in Amreli.

The deceased was absent from his duty since April 11, the police said.

The body was found after a policeman, Mehabub Kalubhai, complained of foul odour emanating from block four yesterday.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the cop must have died five days back. The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained.
