'Fake' ACB officials 'recover' valuables

Eluru, May 4 (UNI) Three unidentified youth posing as Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials stole gold ornaments, bank account documents from the residence of a tahsildar at Kovvur near here today.

According to police, Devarpalli tahsildar M Bharatudu residing at Christianpet in Kovvur, had gone to office in the morning when three youths came to his house. They posed as ACB officials before his wife and said that they had come to carry out a raid.

In the guise of checking the gold ornaments and verifying the bank documents they decamped with jewelries worth Rs one lakh and Rs 20,000 in cash.
