Employee untraced after dam mishap

Shahdol, MP, May 4 (UNI) A private company's employee remained untraced after two fell into this district's Bansagar dam reservoir yesterday afternoon, police said.

The district administration requisitioned specialist divers from Pune and Indore for the rescue effort.

Employee P C Varghese and Welder Shibbu Matai were working with the help of a gate crane on the dam's Gate Number 1. A large part of the gate broke off and the duo fell into the reservoir along with the crane. Varghese swam to safety. Local divers and those from Rewa failed to trace Matai.
