Puducherry, May 4: Leader of the Opposition A M H Nazeem (DMK) today urged the administration to issue a statement in the Territorial Assembly tomorrow on reports of movements of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) cadre along the Karaikal Coast.

During the Zero Hour, Mr Nazeem sought permission of the Chair to raise a point on the issue which was taken up Mr A Anbazhagan (AIADMK).

Quoting newspaper reports, Mr Anbazhagan had spoken about LTTE movements along the Karaikal Coast and alleged arms were being supplied to it from Puducherry, Mr Nazeem recalled.

He also stated AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy had raised the same issue at a recent press conference and added since both the persons were not ordinary citizens, the government should not take their statements lightly.

Hence, Chief Minister N Rangasamy should make a statement in the House tomorrow as the people of the region had panicked over the reports and were entitled to know the real facts.

Earlier, in a special mention, Mr Anbazhagan raised the issue and wanted to know the steps taken by the government to check the infiltration by the banned organisation.

Mr T Thyagarajan (Cong) raised objections to certain remarks made by Mr Anbazhagan about a particular person who was not present in the House following which Speaker R Radhakrishnan expunged them.
