CPM to release its manifesto on May eight
Shimla, May 4 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh unit of the CPM today said it will release its manifesto for the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections on May eight, Shimla district secretary Sanjay Chauhan said.
''The manifesto will outline the party's strategy for the planned development of the town, which had been ignored under the successive Congress and BJP governments and corporations,'' he said in a release here.
Mr Chauhan said the party, on its own, was contesting elections from 12 wards in the 25-ward corporation, leaving the remaining seats to ''like minded parties and progressive individuals''.
The party would move from door-to-door in the coming days and request people to vote against the Congress and the BJP for failing to deliever on its promise of development and progress, he said.
Releasing the final list of its candidates, he said Sanjay Thakur would be its candidate from ward no one, Malvinder Kaur from ward no three, Dhani Ram ward no five, Saurav Kaundal from ward no six, Tripta Gill from ward no 11, Neelam from ward no 12, Kishori Dhatwalia from ward no 13, Hardev Sharma from ward no 17, Subhash Sharma from ward no 19, Meera Sharma from ward no 20, Daleep Kaisth from ward no 22 and Suma Bala from ward no 23.
