Couple shot dead in Bihar
Dehri-on-Sone, May 4 (UNI) CPI(ML) activist Paramhangsh Kharwar and his wife Sarita, an Anganwadi worker, were shot dead in the wee hours today at Jakhibigha village.
Sub-divisional police officer Mithilesh Kumar said five others were also injured which include Paramhangsh's uncle Suresh, mother Saroj and daughter Pratima, two neighbours Hariram Sharma and Ramashray Viswakarma, when the gang led by Devgan Kharwar raided the village.
Paramhangsh Kharwar had criminal antecedents who had later transformed as social worker and dedicated himself to the cause of reforming misguided people.
He earned the wrath of criminals when he was instrumental in aiding arrests of about a dozen law breakers from Kharwar community last year. The criminals were released from jail recently and to avenge their arrests, they engineered the raid and killings.
