TN: Coast Guard helicopter; emergency landing

Chennai, May 4: A Coast Guard (CG) helicopter made an emergency landing on vacant land adjacent to the Dunlop Factory at Ambattur here today.

Coast Guard sources said the helicopter piloted by Mr Bhattacharya with four other personnel left Meenambakkam Airport for coastal patrolling at about 1055 hrs and in ten minutes, the pilot noticed a technical snag following which he made the emergency landing.

On information, a CG team left for Ambattur for an on-the-spot enquiry. However, none was hurt.

The sight of a helicopter in their midst drew huge number of curious visitors who surged for a closer look at the flying machine.
