Bihar govt suspends author of Lalu's biography

Patna, May 4 (UNI) The Bihar government has suspended Mr Harivansh Narayan, Joint Secretary and the author of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's biography, for flouting government rules.

Official sources said here today that Mr Narayan was suspended for illegally extending maternity benefit to a woman under the Matritva Labh scheme, launched by the state government.

After complaints, the matter was investigated and the officer put under suspension.

Mr Narayan, an officer of Bihar Administrative Services, had penned ''Gudhri Ke Lal'', the biography of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad.
