Asian ADRs edge up; PetroChina surges

Hong Kong, May 4 (Reuters) Asian stocks listed on Wall Street <.bkas> rose 0.18 percent following further gains in their US peers, which pushed the Dow to a record closing high for a third straight day.

PetroChina surged 5.65 percent after its parent company said it had made an oil discovery in China's Bohai Bay with proven reserves of nearly 3 billion barrels, ranking it among the world's biggest finds this decade.

Data showing faster-than-expected growth in the vast US services sector and slowing labour cost gains had helped drive Wall Street higher.

MSCI's measure of Asia Pacific stocks excluding Japan <.msciapj> advanced 0.78 percent on Thursday, climbing for a second straight session.
