Ashok Leyland Q4 net up 28.5 per cent

New Delhi, May 4: Ashok Leyland today clocked 28.5 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 171.51 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007 as against Rs 133.45 crore during the same period last year.

The company's market share went up from 27.2 per cent to 28 per cent, a statement said.

In addition, the company's total income rose to Rs 2,307.89 crore for the quarter ended March 2007 from Rs 1,743.34 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company also crossed the export target of 6,000 vehicles.

For the fiscal ended March 2007, the company registered a net profit of Rs 441.28 crore as compared to Rs 327.32 crore for the same period a year ago.
