Welspun-Gujarat secires Rs 700cr orders

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Steel pipe maker Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd today said it has bagged orders worth Rs 700 crore for supply of pipelines overseas.

These projects have been acquired close on the heels of the Rs 1,089 crore orders the company received last month from both India and overseas.

The new orders have taken the company's current pending order book position to about Rs 4,700 crore, including the orders executed in the last quarter of FY07.

Mr B K Goenka, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Welspun Group said, ''These successive new orders within a month are testimony to the corporate ethos created within the company and the engineering abilities that we have built.'' UNI
