Two held in C K Babu attack case
Chittoor, May 3 (UNI) Police arrested two people in connection with the February 9 attack on Chittoor former Legislator C K Babu at Mulbagal in Andhra-Karnataka border here today.
According to police, a police team formed to nab the culprits, led by Sub Inspector Yathamari, arrested the duo at Mulbagal.
The case pertained to three people making a vain bid on the life of the ex-MLA, killing his gunman and a municipal employee. One of the assailants was also killed in the attack.
After interrogation, the team raided a house in Mulbagal based on the revelations of the arrested. However, hundreds of people at the house overpowered and detained the police team, before recovering weapons from them. The Mulbagal police interfered and freed their colleagues.
In retaliation, the persons who had detained the police team attacked the Mulbagal police station, but the police personnel were said to be safe.
