Turk parliament confirms general election on July 22
ANKARA, May 3 (Reuters) - Turkey's parliament today confirmed July 22 as the date for national elections in a move aimed at ending weeks of political crisis.
Members of parliament unanimously backed the proposal in a vote shown on live national television.
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan proposed early elections after Turkey's top court ruled invalid the first round of a presidential election in parliament.
