Tribal students threaten stir

Imphal, May 3 (UNI) The All Tribal Students Union of Manipur (ATSUM)has threatened a stir from May 9 if the state government does not fulfill their demands.

Union publicity secretary Joseph Hmar said the state government had repeatedly assured ATSUM that the Manipur Reservation Bill would be introduced in the Manipur Assembly which had not been done so far.

It demanded declaration of Panel List in the recently held recruitment of Graduate Teachers, release of the salaries of contract teachers up to March 2007 and their re-engagement on need basis.
