New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Condemning the statement by the RSS that Sikh religion is a separate religion of the great Hindu Samaj, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Paramjeet Singh Sarna today asserted that Sikh religion has a separate identity and existence.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Sarna said,''the Sikh religion is not either a part of Hindu religion or any other religion in this universe. It is an independent and separate religion which cannot be covered under any religion.'' Terming the RSS statement as one aimed at spreading hatred in society, Mr Sarna said,''it is not a new trick of the RSS. For the last 50 years, they have been indulging in scuh activities to spread hatred among society. Such deep-rooted conspiracy of the RSS will not be tolerated and the Sikh religion would not allow them to spread such things.'' Mr Sarna reiterated that for the implementation of the Sikh Code Bill and the Anand Marriage Act 1909, the DSGMC would soon submit a memorandum to the Centre that the Anand Marriage act should not be treated as part and parcel of the Hindu Marriage Act.

He alleged that the RSS had taken such a view against the Sikh religion because Akali Dal (Badal) had come to power in Punjab due to alliance with the RSS and the BJP.

According to Mr Sarna, the RSS had, on its official website , www.rss.org, claimed that Sikh religion is a part of the great Hindu Samaj.
