Security for departure of Attari Express enhanced
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Security arrangements for the departure of Attari Link Express have been enhanced as part of North Railway's endeavour to revamp security on the rail premises.
''Security arrangements at the Platform number 18 at the Delhi Jn. have been made stringent, particularly for the departure of the Attari Express, running between Delhi and Attari. this includes thorough and intense screening of luggage and passengers before the departure of the train,''a Norther railway spokesperson said.
The enhanced security is part of a project by the railways to revamp security on the rail premises. A team of experts, led by Prof D T Sahni from IIT Delhi, has been constituted to carry out security audit of the railways.
Security arrangements on railway stations in Delhi have been enhanced by deploying additional 12 trained dog squads for conducting frequent checks at stations. These squads are assisting the railways Protection force to carry out security checks of luggage and other packages.
Metal detectors and CCTV cameras are being intensively used by security personnel at New Delhi, Delhi and Nizamuddin railway stations.
