Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) The Rupee climbed up in late trade today to end at 41.10/11 against the US Dollar.

Strong demand for Dollars by oil refiners to meet routine payments capped the Rupee's gains, preventing it from heading back to last week's 9-year high of 40.60 per dollar, according to dealers.

Earlier in the morning session, the domestic unit opened weaker at 41.27/29 against the previous close of 41.18/20 on Monday, which marked the days low, dealers said.

Rupee regained prominence in the afternoon session to mark a days high of 41.10/11.

Since the last two days were a holiday for markets, the accumulated dollar supply drove up the Rupee as they hit the market on Thursday, said dealers.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate at Rs 41.18 per US dollar, up by 11 paise from Monday's rate of Rs41.29 per USD, said RBI.

Six-month and 12-month forward premia today closed at 5.99 percent (6.01) and 4.84 percent (4.83), respectively.

Against the Euro, the domestic unit closed weaker at 55.49(55.86/88) per unit each, against Pound it finished at 81.26/32(81.81/82) (81.60) per unit each and the Yen was also quoted lower at 34.00(34.29/30) per 100 units each, traders said.
