Rains forecast in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Pune, May 3 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Lakshadweep, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in most parts of Rajasthan and in some parts of north Madhya Maharashtra and at isolated places in Punjab, Gujarat, and Vidarbha.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, appreciably above normal in south Madhya Maharashtra, in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and in remaining parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Vidarbha. They were above normal in some parts of Orissa and Tamil Nadu.

They were markedly below normal in some parts of west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Haryana, appreciably below normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Bihar and Himachal Pradesh, and remaining parts of Orissa, and were below normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of Haryana. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, east Maldhya Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, and south interior Karnataka.
