Philips Carbon eyeing overseas acquisitions

Kolkata, May 3(UNI) Philips Carbon Black Ltd (PCBL), a RPG company, is eyeing overseas companies for acquisitions in Europe and other countries abroad, barring America.

Speaking at a news conference here today, Philips Carbon chairman Sanjiv Goenka said the company would not acquire companies in America as that country has strict carbon emmission rules.

''We will target other countries, including Europe, which is portential market for acquisitions,'' he said adding that the company was aiming to increase its export market manifold.

''The company is now well established in the global market, with exports over 15 countries, including Japan, Australia, Vietnam and China,'' he said.

PCBL exported 68,878 Mt carbon from India in 2006-07.
