New class of 2008 ISB begins

Hyderabad, May 3 (UNI) The new Classes for 2008 at the Indian School of business(ISB) began here today with students coming in with a wide variety of work experience.

Fifty eight percent of the atusents were from industries such as pharma, shipping, FMCG, Healthcare, Media, Medicine, Civilservices,Armed Forces, manufacturing, education and research and advertising, according to an ISB press release.

The number of Doctors in the Class of 2008 has gone up to 10 this year from six last year. People from the Media industry also constitute six percent. The Civil Services have also been well represented with IFS, IPS, and IAS officers joining the Class.

Several academicians have decided to join the management programme as well.

The ISB has also made concerted efforts to attract more women students to its one year Post Graduate programme in management.

This year, the number of women students has increased from 20 percent in 2007 to 25 percent, making ISB a leading Indian B-school with the largest percentage of women in its class.
