Nasik reeling under scorching heat
Nasik, May 3 (UNI) The heat wave continued unabated in Nasik region of Maharashtra with the temperature hovering between 40 and 41.4 degree Celsius during the last three days.
The streets wore a deserted look as people refrained from moving out in the afternoon due to the oppressive heat.
The sale of caps, hats and scarfs was on the rise. Electronic dealers were doing roaring business with air coolers and refrigerators being much in demand.
People were patronising ice cream parlours and juice centres to get some respite from the sweltering heat. Sale of fruits like watermelon, oranges and coconut was also picking up.
The load shedding in city areas have added to the woes of the people. Load shedding of around 10-12 hours in the rural areas is making life miserable for the people.
People were waiting for the 'welcome' showers to get some relief from the heat wave conditions.
